These scholarships are awarded to citizens of countries other than Indonesia (non-Indonesian citizens) who have completed their education at a high school or an equivalent institution. For those applying to the Bachelor program, eligibility includes graduates from high schools, vocational schools, or other equivalent institutions. Meanwhile, applicants for the Master’s and Doctoral programs must have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized institution.
The FGLS scholarship is open to eligible graduates from countries other than Indonesia. The specific requirements for applicants are as follows:
- Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Program Applicants: Must have completed secondary education, senior high school, vocational school, or an equivalent institution.
- Master’s Program Applicants: Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Doctoral Program Applicants: Must have a Master’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Applicants cannot reapply for the same degree program they have previously completed.
- Academic Performance
- Applicants must have achieved excellent academic results in their previous studies.
- Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships or from UII.
- Age Requirement
- Bachelor’s Program: Maximum age of 23 years at the time of application.
- Master’s & Doctoral Programs: No age limit.
- Passport and Visa Considerations
- Applicants with a refugee status stamp on their passport are not eligible for the scholarship.
- Applicants from calling visa countries may apply, but the visa process may take longer and is subject to approval by Indonesian immigration authorities. UII has no control over visa decisions.
Meeting the minimum entry requirements allows you to apply to UII but does not guarantee selection. To apply, visit admission.uii.ac.id and complete each step of the online application form.
Before starting the online application, please prepare the following documents:
- Graduation Certificate & Academic Transcript (Certified copies; if not in English, provide an official translation with a certified stamp).
- Passport (Color scan of the identity page).
- Letter of Good Health (template available at admisi.uii.ac.id).
- Curriculum Vitae/Resume (Updated version).
- Statement of Purpose (Explaining your academic and career goals).
- Language Proficiency Certificate (English or Indonesian).
- Declaration Form (Confirming you will not work on a study visa and will comply with Indonesian law; template available at admisi.uii.ac.id).
- Latest Formal Picture (with a white or red background)

Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) offers diverse study programs across various disciplines. These programs encompass business, law, social sciences, engineering, and medicine. - CREATE NIU: Go to https://admisi.uii.ac.id and click “International Admission”, choose “Full Degree”, and click “Create NIU Account” button and sign up. Follow the instruction to obtain the Admission Number or Nomor Induk Utama (NIU). Please register as an International Prospective Student.
- APPLY: Log in with your NIU account at https://admisi.uii.ac.id to complete the application, and submit it (after submission, you will not be able to edit or revise your application).
- CHOOSE: Choose the study programs (maximum 3 options) and prepare the required documents. Complete all data and upload all the required documents. Your data will be checked and verified. Completed documents from eligible applicants will be invited for an interview. Revision of required documents might be necessary for eligible applicants.
- INTERVIEW: Attend the interview test as scheduled by the UII team. This will be informed to your registered e-mail. The interview consists of two parts: (1) basic academic knowledge interview for all applicants and (2) scholarship interview for those applying for UII Future Global Leaders Scholarship (FGLS).
- ACCEPTANCE: Go to https://admisi.uii.ac.id and log in with your NIU Account to check the announcement of your acceptance to the university. Download your Letter of Admission and Study Agreement through the portal. Please fill out and sign your Study Agreement form, then submit it to the portal.
- ENROLLMENT: You will be enrolled at UII and receive a student number after you return the study agreement and pay the visa and limited stay permits fees. Please see the further information on the enrolment procedure.
- PRE-DEPARTURE: Prepare for your departure to Indonesia and join the language, culture, and orientation programs.
* NIU should be saved and memorized because it is not sent to your email.
English is the language of instruction when you study all courses at UII. Especially in the International Program, your English proficiency must meet the requirement equivalent to a TOEFL score of 500 or an IELTS score of 5 or Duolingo 75-80 or other certificates equal to B1 level.
Bahasa Indonesia is the language instruction in a regular study program at UII. It is obligatory to take the Indonesian Language for Foreigner or Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA) course in the Centre for International Language and Cultural Studies (CILACS) UII or in the home country provided by the Embassy of Republic Indonesia. Your Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is recommended to meet a minimum requirement equivalent to level 4 (Madya; a score of 482 or above) of the Test of Indonesian Language Proficiency or Uji Kemahiran Bahasa Indonesia (UKBI). You may find the information on UKBI in the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in your home country.
